At the same time, growing electricity demand has increased the need for additional power capacity. Compared with conventional fossil-fuel generation, solar power offers a way to add electricity supply while reducing fuel dependence and associated emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Zhenfa project was developed as a large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant, making use of Pakistan\u2019s available solar resource to increase clean electricity supply and support the local energy mix. Once operational, the plant is intended to provide additional power to the regional grid and reduce part of the reliance on conventional thermal generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project also includes a PV weather monitoring system for collecting solar irradiation, air temperature and humidity, wind speed, and wind direction data. These measurements provide field conditions needed for plant operation and maintenance, generation performance assessment, and environmental data analysis.
