The first thing that will need to be done to started to build a weather station is to have some necessary tools. It is going to be a first, you all need to empty the thermometer, by the thermometer we will see the temperature outside rather than the temperature of your body. That is important because it will let you know whether the water is hot, warm, cool or cold. Then, you’ll need a hygrometer. This tool measures humidity, the amount of water vapor in the air. Finally, you will need an anemometer, a special tool that tells you how fast the wind is blowing.
Once you’ve inserted your thermometer, it’s time to place your hygrometer outside. Just be sure to set it somewhere it won’t get soaked by rain. This is especially important since if it gets wet, it won’t give you correct readouts. Like the thermometer, it can also be placed in the shade to protect it from direct sun.
Finally, it’s your anemometer time! Hang it out where it can catch the wind easily.
Once you are ready to assemble your weather station, read and follow the instructions closely. For that reason, it is really important to ensure everything is level, and everything is secure. Ensuring that the readings are accurate will give you confidence in the information obtained from your weather station.
You even can make an easy barometer with a glass jar, a balloon, a straw and some tape. Fill a jar with water and cover the top with a balloon. Then, tape the straw onto the top side of the balloon. The changing air pressure will cause the balloon to go up and down, and when the balloon goes up and down, the straw follows along with it. Strap on some basic stuff to track elasticity without fancy devices.
