All in One Weather Station For Agrometeorological Monitoring
Project Overview
In modern smart agriculture, real-time monitoring of meteorological factors such as light, temperature, humidity, and precipitation is key to achieving scientific irrigation and crop yield forecasting. Located at a large-scale wheat farming base, this project deploys an All-in-One Weather Station to provide farmers with high-precision environmental data, aiming to optimize crop growing conditions and improve production efficiency through digital means.

Client Requirements
The client required a monitoring solution capable of stable, long-term operation in outdoor environments, with particular emphasis on the following points:
High-precision photosynthetic radiation monitoring: Accurate measurement of total solar radiation is required to calculate crop photosynthetic efficiency.
Self-sufficient power supply: The equipment must operate in the center of farmland far from the power grid.
Multi-parameter Integration: In addition to radiation, the system must integrate wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, and precipitation.
High Stability: Sensors must possess exceptional environmental adaptability to minimize maintenance frequency.
Solution
Following discussions, the Yantai technical team provided the client with an integrated weather station solution that combines a solar power system, a data acquisition system, and high-precision sensors.
This solution features a tripod-style mounting structure that seamlessly integrates solar panels, a waterproof control box, and a sensor array. Thermopile technology ensures ultra-fast response times for radiation measurements, while a double-glazed design effectively shields against environmental interference, guaranteeing agricultural research-grade data accuracy.
This All-in-One Weather Station consists of the following core modules:
1. TBQ-2C Total Solar Radiation Sensor:
The TBQ-2C Total Solar Radiation Sensor is used to acquire radiation data at the monitoring station, specifically designed to measure total solar radiation within the 0.3–3.2 μm wavelength range.
Élément de détection : Utilizes a fast-response wound, electroplated thermopile. The sensing surface is coated with 3M matte black paint, serving as the hot junction.
Working Principle: When exposed to sunlight, the temperature of the sensing surface rises, creating a thermoelectric potential proportional to the intensity of solar radiation relative to the cold junction on the opposite side.
Double-layer quartz glass cover design: The outer layer is designed to minimize the impact of air convection on measurements; the inner layer specifically blocks infrared radiation generated by the outer glass cover, ensuring data purity.
2. Other Integrated Components
Compact weather sensor: Integrates ultrasonic wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, and pressure sensors.
Solar Power System: High-efficiency polycrystalline silicon solar panels paired with a high-capacity battery.
Protective Enclosure and Data Logger: Built-in data acquisition module and 4G/5G transmission module enable remote monitoring.
Features of All in One Weather Station
High-Sensitivity Thermal Stability: The TBQ-2C sensor’s high sensitivity and double-layer thermal insulation design ensure data linearity even under complex weather conditions.
Superior Weather Resistance: The sensor housing is resistant to UV aging, and the desiccant design prevents internal fogging, extending service life.
Fully Automatic Operation: Low-power design combined with the solar system supports uninterrupted monitoring 365 days a year.
Integrated Installation: Compact mounting bracket design facilitates rapid deployment and relocation in farm fields.
Project Summary
By deploying this All-in-One weather station, the client has successfully achieved precise monitoring of solar radiation resources during the wheat growing season. The inclusion of the TBQ-2C solar radiation sensor not only provides basic meteorological indicators but also delivers critical solar radiation data, offering a scientific basis for precision fertilization and pest and disease early warning. This project has enhanced the farm’s technological capabilities and set a benchmark for the standardized development of smart agriculture.
