Client Requirements

Located in the tropics, Vietnam enjoys excellent sunlight conditions, but its climate is frequently volatile and extreme. The common high-temperature and high-humidity environments place extremely high demands on the stability and weather resistance of sensors.

Furthermore, Vietnam is prone to dust storms, and in some areas, the accumulation of dust severely impacts the power generation efficiency of solar power plants. Traditional solar monitoring technologies struggle to address these challenges, particularly in complex, high-irradiation environments where single-point monitoring cannot meet the precise requirements for bifacial modules and tracking systems.

Solución

To address the unique climatic and environmental conditions of the Vietnam project, Yantai Sensor provided China Energy Engineering Corporation with a customized integrated PV weather station solution. By incorporating a fully automated tracking system and comprehensive monitoring technology, the solution significantly enhances the accuracy and reliability of data collection.

Fully Automated Tracking System: Equipped with high-precision solar trackers, this system ensures that sensors consistently capture solar radiation data at the optimal angle, thereby optimizing the power generation efficiency of the photovoltaic modules.

Under Vietnam’s unique conditions of high temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rainfall, the protection rating of the photovoltaic monitoring system was specially customized to ensure stable operation of the equipment in harsh weather conditions. This enables the system to reliably transmit real-time data over extended periods and prevents data loss caused by environmental factors.

Características

Yantai Sensor’s photovoltaic meteorological monitoring system not only tracks weather changes but also delves into core parameters closely related to power generation, ensuring comprehensive optimization of photovoltaic power plant operations.

Solar Radiation Matrix: Includes radiation on the inclined surface of the PV array and total radiation on a horizontal plane, providing foundational data for calculating the PR value (system efficiency).

Environmental Feature Monitoring: Real-time monitoring of albedo helps optimize the power generation efficiency of bifacial modules. Additionally, the system monitors the sky index and overall climatic conditions to provide more accurate predictions of the PV system’s performance.

Quantitative Loss Analysis: A dedicated module for monitoring dust contamination levels has been designed. Through real-time data feedback, it helps O&M teams scientifically plan cleaning schedules, avoiding unnecessary over-cleaning, thereby reducing O&M costs and extending module lifespan.

Project Summary:

By deploying Yantai Sensor’s photovoltaic meteorological monitoring system at the Da Mi and Chun Shou projects in Vietnam, the project team successfully improved the power generation efficiency and operational management of the solar power plants. Through precise measurements of albedo, irradiance, and dust levels, the system helped optimize the tilt angle of the mounting structures and cleaning schedules, thereby reducing unnecessary maintenance costs and extending the service life of the solar panels. This initiative not only ensured the efficient operation of the projects but also generated significant returns for the clients. Yantai Sensor’s collaboration with China Energy Engineering Group has not only advanced Vietnam’s green energy transition but also provided valuable experience and technical support for future similar projects.
