Project Background
In March 2025, we completed the deployment of a compact meteorological monitoring system in a high-density residential community in Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. The community covers approximately 68,000 square meters, with a building density of 42%, a green coverage rate of approximately 31%, and a resident population of over 4,300.

Client Requirements
In recent years, with the increase in building density and the proportion of paved surfaces in residential areas, a microclimate environment distinct from that of regional meteorological stations has gradually formed within the community. This manifests as locally higher summer temperatures, delayed response to waterlogging during short-duration heavy rainfall, a lack of real-time air quality data in areas frequented by children and the elderly, and reliance on experience-based judgment for green space irrigation, lacking support from meteorological parameters.
Since national meteorological monitoring data is mostly regional in scale and cannot reflect the spatial differences within the community, this community sought to deploy a compact, integrated meteorological sensing system to acquire minute-level, multi-element on-site data, enabling visualized and data-driven management of the community-level microclimate, and providing objective data for refined operation and maintenance.

Equipment Model: HCD6817 Compact Micro Weather Sensor Station
Number of Units Installed: 5 monitoring terminals were deployed, located at: the central courtyard green space, the children’s activity area, the underground parking garage entrance, the ventilation corridor between the high-rise buildings on the west side, and the entrance to the community’s outer road.
The HCD6817 Compact Micro Weather Sensor Station features a highly integrated structural design, consolidating seven standard meteorological parameters, temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, precipitation, and light intensity, onto a single device platform. This enables 24/7 continuous online monitoring of outdoor environments.
The device outputs all meteorological data simultaneously via a digital communication interface, reducing wiring and maintenance complexity associated with multi-device configurations. Characterized by compact size, low power consumption, easy installation, and high data synchronization, it is suitable for community microclimate monitoring, park environmental management, and smart city applications.

Project Feedback
The micro weather station was very easy to install on-site; the entire process from pole mounting to commissioning was completed within 2 hours. The equipment is small in size, highly integrated, and provides stable data during operation. Its accuracy meets the daily decision-making needs of property management for irrigation control, rainstorm warnings, and high-temperature alerts.
The daily maintenance workload of the micro weather station is also minimal; calibration is recommended every 12 months, resulting in low overall operational pressure. Overall, this deployment not only improved the community’s refined management level but also provided mature and implementable practical experience for subsequent replication and promotion in other residential areas.
