Project Background
The municipal meteorological bureau required mini weather monitoring gear for rooftop urban microclimate tracking. Bulky traditional weather stations are unfit for densely built city areas. They require compact integrated design, solar off-grid power, stable 24/7 operation, remote real-time data upload, and precise monitoring of wind speed/direction, temperature, humidity and rainfall. After comparing multiple suppliers, the bureau partnered with Yantai Sensor and adopted our compact weather station solution.

On-site Installation & Equipment Configuration
The Yantai Sensor compact weather station in the project is installed on the flat roof of a downtown office building, perfectly adapting to limited rooftop space without occupying extra ground area.
- Meteorological sensors: 3-cup anemometer, wind vane, radiation shield temperature & humidity sensor, matching rainfall sensor;
- Power supply system: Monocrystalline silicon solar panel + built-in storage battery, realize 24-hour unattended power supply;
- Control terminal: Integrated data acquisition box, support wireless 4G remote data upload to meteorological bureau cloud platform;
- Supporting structure: Lightweight anti-corrosion galvanized vertical pole, concrete counterweight base, convenient rooftop fixed construction.
Project Operation Effect
Since the completion of installation and acceptance, the Yantai Sensor compact weather station has run stably for a long time in complex urban environmental conditions such as high-rise wind disturbance, dust and alternating temperature difference.
